For Surgery Patients

Dr. Koreishi and Dr. Ple-plakon pride themselves on being at the forefront of anterior segment surgery.  They are compassionate, informative, and experienced surgeons.  Your eyes will be in good hands when you choose Cornea Consultants of Texas for your surgical procedures!

After a thorough examination and discussion with Dr. Koreishi or Dr. Ple-plakon, if surgery is recommended, you will meet with a surgery coordinator at the office.  The surgery coordinator will provide you with pertinent information about scheduling surgery, including an informed-consent form, pre-operative instructions, a history and physical form, and financial information.  Most outpatient surgery centers and anesthesiologists require lab tests, an EKG, and a pre-operative history and physical, which must be obtained from your primary care physician within 30 days of your scheduled surgery.

When undergoing outpatient eye surgery, you will be given intravenous sedation to help you relax.  A local or topical anesthetic will be used to numb your eye.  Most people describe experiencing a “twilight sleep” during surgery.  You won't be completely asleep, but you should not feel any pain during surgery.

Our surgeons perform outpatient surgical procedures at scheduled times each week; and as needed for emergency cases.  Depending on the type of surgery, urgency of surgery, the patient’s schedule, and the doctor's schedule, the surgical procedure may be performed at one of the following locations:
